Knitted/Felted Gingerbread Man
Snatch one of these Gingerbread Men fresh out of the washer before he runs away!
Both the larger and smaller versions are knit completely in the round with 100% wool yarn, then felted in your washing machine. The pattern includes directions for picking up stitches and knitting small pockets on the back of his legs so you can make him run as fast as he can!
The smaller gingerbread men are knit on size US 8 double-pointed needles and the larger one is knit on size US 10 1/2 double-pointed needles. NOTE: You will need two sets of the same size double-pointed needles to knit one gingerbread man. You won’t use all the needles at once, but it’s easier to let the arms and legs rest on needles, rather than on waste yarn or stitch holders. This way, you can pick up your needles and knit directly from them.
Simple embroidery stitches are used after felting, drying and stuffing to make the “icing.”
