Kiss Stitch is a novel way of using slipped stitches whilst cabling in order to create an X or kiss motif.

It works best in yarns with good stitch definition such as BFL, merino, and singles.

Adding beads is optional. The beads must be pre-threaded.

Gauge is given when worked in the round using fingering weight yarn on 2mm needles (note: I am a loose knitter; you may need 2.25 or 2.5mm needles to achieve the same gauge).

Sample Details

Red Swatch: Cascade 220 Fingering (100% wool), worked flat on 2mm needles, 38 stitches / 44 rows per 4”

Beige Swatch: The Uncommon Thread Posh Fingering (70% superwash BFL, 20% silk, 10% cashmere) worked flat on 2mm needles, 38 stitches / 44 rows per 4”

The fingerless mitt shown is Keighley, which uses this stitch pattern.

The turquoise shawl shown is Zenith, which will be out July 2021!
