Kilgary Hat
♫ The Music ♫
The Kilgary Mountain is a traditional Irish tune that tells the story of a highwayman from the southern mountains of Ireland. With a chorus that chimes: “ Musha rig um du rum da, Whack fol the daddy o, Whack fol the daddy o, There’s whiskey in the jar” ~ a sing-a-long winner to be sure!
This cabled hat is knit in the round from the bottom up, beginning with an Estonian Cast On (or other stretchy cast on of your choice). If a deeper hat or a fold-over brim is desired, extra rows of the initial ribbing rounds can be worked; this will, of course, require more than the stated yarn. The pattern is charted with written directions for charts included in a separate PDF.
This hat matches the Kilgary Mittens.
