Kids Campfire Cardigan
Crochet level:

- ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), hdc (half double crochet).

Crochet hook:
- 3.5 mm / E and 2.75 mm / C.
Recommended materials:

Knit Picks Swiss Worsted yarn (50 g / 110 yards, 100% Superwash Merino Wool), 7 (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14) balls / 350 (450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700) g / 770 (990, 1100, 1210, 1320, 1430, 1540) yds. This yarn is labeled Worsted / #4, but should be considered Light/ DK / #3 weight. Another prototype was made out of Knit Picks Shine Sport (#2 / Sport weight, 50 g / 110 yards, 60 % Pima Cotton, 40% Modal natural beech wood fiber).

Crochet hooks 3.5 mm or size to obtain gauge and 2.75 mm for buttons and button loops. Tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers.

4 (4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) size 2/3’’ / 19 mm buttons or crochet your own.
Sizes:
1.5 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14) years; 92 (104, 116, 128, 140, 152, 164) cm / 36 ¼ (41, 45 5/8, 50 3/8, 55 1/8, 59 7/8, 64 5/8)’’ height; 52.5 (57, 62, 67, 72, 77, 83) cm / 20 5/8 (22 ½, 24 ½, 26 3/8, 28 3/8, 30 3/8, 32 ¾)’’ chest circumference .
Cardigan measures 59.5 (63.5, 69, 74, 80, 84, 90) cm / 23 ½ ( 25, 27 1/8, 29 1/8, 31 ½, 33, 35 3/8)’’ in chest circumference including positive ease about 7 - 8 cm / 2 ¾ – 3 ¼ ‘’.
Gauge:
- (UK: tension) 4 x 4’’ / 10 x 10 cm = 19.5 sts x 13 rows over Half Double Crochet Seed Stitch.
Notes:
Cardigan is made seamlessly from the neck down to the bottom:
- Sleeves and body are made together from the neck and separated upon reaching an underarm line.
- Collar is made separately and joined to the body after finishing neck shaping increases and from that point made along with the body as front side bands. Body is finished with a bottom band, which is joined to the hem as you go.
- Sleeves are made in rounds and finished with sleeve bands, which are joined to sleeves as you go.
- Collar is sewed to the neck opening. Cardigan is finished with button loops and buttons.
