Some projects feel like little time capsules, filled with memories we’ve gathered along the way. A leftover ball from a favourite sweater, a mini skein purchased in Paris, a few metres from a friend’s gift, the very last scrap of a beloved skein…each one a special keepsake in its own right.

The Keepsake Bag brings them all together, transforming scraps into something useful and meaningful. Like a box of mementos or a bundle of old letters, it holds small reminders of where we’ve been. It would also be gorgeous in just one or two colours, if you’re starting from scratch instead of from stash.

Knit in DK weight yarn (though any weight will work if you adjust your needles to match), the Keepsake Bag features easy, random stripes and a touch of moss stitch for the handle—just enough to enjoy its lovely texture without overstaying its welcome.

It’s the perfect size for a small project like socks or a hat, but also simple to make larger if you wish. Use it to carry your WIP, gather notions or treasures, or even as a reusable way to wrap another handmade gift. However you choose to fill it, the Keepsake Bag is a sweet way to enjoy gathering, giving, and finding beauty in what we already hold.
