Karine Hat
Coming October 3rd 2025!
Laila was inspired to make this chart after finding a photo in her Norwegian grandmother’s photo album. She charted directly from the image. We don’t know who she is, but love her energy and we feel like the patterns embody her outdoorsy vibe in the Norwegian countryside. Laila named the chart Karine, after her own Norwegian middle name. She first designed the Karine Legwarmers and Cowl, then I used the chart to make the coziest hat pattern! Check out our whole series of patterns based on the Karine chart.
Construction:
This cozy hat is knit from the brim up - starting with a provisional cast on to join later in pattern. Knitting direction changes midway to create the colorwork top. Decreases are worked into the chart. Folding up the brim creates the finished look!
