This cunningly constructed shawl is made on a base of addictive modular triangles, and bordered with any of 3 edgings. I have also provided a choice of 3 construction methods with full instructions.

Dimensions (excluding borders):
-Small: 15 inches deep from neck to bottom of back, appx 60 inches in circumference (changes depending on how shawl is fastened)
-Large: 19 inches deep from neck to bottom of back, appx 72 inches circumference (changes depending on how shawl is fastened)

Size of shawl can easily be changed simply by adding or subtracting the number of stitches used for knitting a triangle. Of course more yarn will be needed for a larger size than that given in pattern.

Yarn Requirements:
For Small:

• With full knitted or crocheted edge, 850 yards
• With fully Icord edge, 650 yards
• 2 color shawl: 500 yards main color, 350 yards for edge

For Large:

• With full knitted or crocheted edge, 1300 yards
• With fully Icord edge, 1000 yards
• 2 color shawl: 900 yards main color, 400 yards for edge

You can use any worsted or aran-weight yarn with the given needle size.
Gauge is not crucial except for estimating yarn needed, but you should not be looser than 4 stitches per inch. The joining methods and lacy/sheer fabric do not go well together.
You can use a lighter weight yarn but it is important to use a needle size that will create a solid fabric. Of course the sts and rows per inch will also change, necessitating a different cast on number to achieve a shawl of useful size :-}

NOTE: There is a small error on page 5, under knitted Edging where it says “Repeat steps 1 and 2 around the neckline.” It should instead say “Repeat Step 2 around neckline”
