Kajika (ka-’g’-ka) means “Walks without sound” in the Fox (Mesquaki) Tribe. It seems a very fitting name for a fox. The fox sneaks by stealthily and is often described as cunning. But it’s slender build and bushy tail make it one of my favorite animals. Besides, who doesn’t like a little sassiness in their life?

This pattern is for an amigurumi fox. It is 15 inches tall from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet using the larger hook. Both an 8 mm and 9 mm hook are used. The larger hook is for the head, body and tail, and the smaller hook is for the extremities (ears, arms/legs, and nose).

Stranded colorwork is used to incorporate the white fur on the fox. If you carry the yarn loosely at the back of the work, the strands can be cut and tied when the fox is finished.
