Justice is the sixth installment of my A Single Candle series. Justice means, as Thomas Jefferson reminded us, “All the tranquility, happiness & security of mankind rest on justice, on the obligation to respect the rights of others.”
This scarf can be worked in either a cotton/linen blend DK weight yarn (Urth Yarns Etesia used here in the blue scarf) or a wool DK weight yarn (Leading Men Fiber Arts Polwarth used here in the red scarf). Using less than a full skein, this is a budget-friendly project.
It’s worked from end to end, beginning with an I-cord cast-on. Stitches are increased at the end of RS rows, then decreased along the same edge to the other end of the scarf. End with an applied join, then graft the remaining few stitches together. You can make it longer by working more repeats of the center section. Each 20-row repeat of 43 stitches uses about 30 yards (27.5 m) of yarn, so if you’re adding extra length, make sure to account for that in your yarn purchase.
Finished Measurements:
The scarf worked in Urth Yarns Etesia DK measured 42 1/4” (107.5 cm) long and 6 1/2” (16.5 cm) wide. The scarf worked in Leading Men Fiber Arts Polwarth DK measured 45 1/4” (115 cm) long and 6 3/4” (17 cm) wide after blocking.
