We live on a Midwest (USA) organic family farm, powered by wind and solar energy. 2012 was a terrible year for agriculture here. After a winter with virtually no snow, the ground was already dry when record-breaking high temperatures began in March. Measureable rain stopped in April followed by more record-breaking heat. Wells and retention ponds ran dry, major rivers were closed to boat and barge traffic, crops failed, and animals died. Mowing stopped in early June since there was no need; virtually nothing grew. But in the midst of all the sadness and loss, the clover in our hay field flourished. Allowed to blossom for the first time in memory, it created purple waves with hints of sage green in a field of brown.

This hooded jacket is in memory of our July clover and was my Level 3 sweater submission for the TKGA Master Hand Knitter program.

Jacket highlights include corrugated ribbing, set-in sleeves, vertical slit pockets, steeked openings, a hood, decorative front band, ultrafine Merino hems, and zipped front.
