A single-sized, cardigan with negative ease, described in The Australian Women’s Weekly, Knitting for 1937 supplement, 27 February 1937, as:

For chic simplicity you will find this alluring little jumper hard to beat.

and in Vintage Knits: 25 classic patterns for modern knitters”, as:

Enchantingly fresh-looking, this jumper has a naïve round neckline. The original used Pagoda Crepe, a wool yarn with silk in the twist. We’ve updated it with a 100% merino wool crepe-style yarn. The twisted rib stitch is actually quite simple to knit.

Materials: 6oz. of Pagoda crepe. A pair No. 11, and pair No. 9 Beehive needles (a tight knitter may have to substitute No. 8 needles for the latter to get the right tension). A No. 13 Inox crochet-hook.
10 buttons.

Measurements: Bust, 34-36 inches (the rib being fairly “stretchy”), length 18 inches; sleeve seam, with cuff turned up as worn, 3 inches.

Tension: 8½ stitches to an inch, measured over the fancy ribbing lightly patted flat.
