Johanson
Ideal for use with independently dyed yarns, this blanket beautifully celebrates hand dyed yarns in multiple weights. Whether you use fingering weight held single and double or a fingering weight and a worsted weight, Johanson is perfect for stylish babies and adults alike. Knitting this in a fingering weight yarn opens the door to the glorious hues of easy care sock yarn, while those who love such yarns as Malabrigo can work with both the fingering and worsted weights. The rustic Nine-Patch quilts so popular in American history inspired this blanket, with a wink towards a Japanese sensibility by exploring different textures in the same piece.
Yarn:
If you knit this blanket with just fingering weight yarn, you will need 2,220 yards. Sample knit in Sundara Sock, color Aged Oak Barrel, 370 yards per skein, 100% superwash merino.
If you opt to knit this blanket with fingering weight and worsted weight, you will require 675 yards of fingering weight and 900 yards of worsted weight.
Dimensions:
52 inches square.
