Jetty Sweater
To honor the past work of the knitters of Guernsey Island, Jetty is packed with many traditional elements that originate from that historical island life. For the fisherman back then, the garment needed to be wool and well-fitted. To accomplish this, the knitters developed practical traditions, such as an overlapping hem, underarm gussets, straight line edges, seamless bottom-up construction, saddle shoulders, seamless in-the-round sleeves, straight neck, and stand-up collar.
Besides all this purposeful tradition, Jetty also mirrors the artful patterning of that time, with a fresh design across the chest and portions of it repeated on the upper sleeves. Some stitch patterns are written and charted, and some are just written.
