Jenna Sweater
This pattern has been updated for a recent version 11092024. New rolled edge cuff for the direction 1 (the stripes A・B) and minor corrections are included in it.
JENNA SWEATER is a stripe sweater, alternating two colors in rhythmical pitches. Options for the stripes are from soft, narrow stripes to bold, wide stripes. In either style, the shape of the sweater doesn’t change: it can be in different stripe combinations for the body and the sleeves. Have a little fun arranging colors and stripes, like drawing on a canvas, on this effortless, boxy shape sweater. Without jogless stripes method, smooth knitting!
Knitting this sweater starts top down. First, shape the shoulders, continue the upper part of the body to the underarm, and join the front and back. After joining the upper body, knit round to the hem. For the sleeves, pick up stitches from the armhole, contour the sleeve cap, and continue the round knitting to the cuff. Collar stitches are picked up from the neckline to knit round and then fold double. Finish the collar by sewing to the inside of the neckline.
In choosing stripes, the basic knitting process stays same; however, there are two directions based on the starting locations and length of the cuff (Stripes A and B for Single cuff: 5.5” / 14 cm, Stripes C: 3” / 8 cm).
Direction-1 is for the Stripes A or B.
Direction-2 is for the Stripes C.
