The Jelly Roll Sweater was inspired by my Jelly Roll socks, with simple but effective colorwork, a round yoke and easy fit, this sweater would make a great beginner colorwork project.

This pattern is written to fit with 2-4” of ease, if you would prefer more or less ease you can size up or down. The measurements given below are finished garment measurements (they include ease).

Sizes- 0-6 (19”), 6-12 (20”), 12-18 (22”), 2 (24”), 4 (26”), 6 (28”), 8 (29”), 10 (31”)

Yardage-
Color A- 75, 80, 95, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200

Main Color- 270, 300, 370, 470, 550, 625, 725, 825

Yarn:
Three colors of fingering weight yarn (see yardage chart below). Samples shown are knit in Primrose Yarn Co. Sophia MCN in the colorways Space Suit, Ink Blot, So Fetch, Electric Mint Julep, Like a Hurricane, and Misfit; and Twist fingering from Republic of Wool in Spearmint and Wonderland.

Choosing colors:
This sweater calls for three different colors (although you are free to experiment with more than three); two colors for the colorwork yoke (CA and CB) and a third color for the main body and sleeves. I strongly recommend choosing colors with high contrast (in both color and tone) for the yoke. I prefer using the lighter color of the two for CA. The main body will look better when knit with a tonal or semi-solid color, because highly variegated colors tend to flash and pool.

Materials:
• 2 size US 3 (3.25mm) circular needles for neck/yoke and hem, 1 set US 3 (3.25mm) DPNs for sleeve cuffs, size US 5 (3.75mm) circular needles for sweater body and sleeves (DPNs can be used for sleeves if preferred). Adjust needle size if needed for gauge.
