Jeanne Baret's Liberty Cap
I knitted this Liberty Cap on needles slightly smaller than what the ball band suggests. My aim was to create a hat with as sturdy a presence as the explorer it honors: with enough stability to stand up on top or flop just a bit forward in the traditional Liberty Cap style. The doubling of the hat adds to this effect somewhat. It makes a warm hat, despite being knitted in fingering-weight yarn.
