The Jasmine Shawl is created using short rows and slip-stitch variations, and integrated into the ribbing edges.
Makes perfect match with Clematis Beret.
The Jasmine Shawl is an isosceles triangle with approximately 35° base angles A and B and 110° vertex angle C. It remains in its isosceles as you grow it, no matter what size you choose to make.
The Jasmine Shawl is worked vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeats of the stitch pattern are structured to create a double-sided scarf texture. The Jasmine stitch pattern is created using the short-row technique, standard crochet stitches (US terminology), and some special stitches. It is smoothly integrated into the triangle shape and framed with ribbing edges AB and AC, using increases and decreases and the decorative edge BC.
You may grow your shawl to the size/number of panels you decide as you go.
Language: English.
Crochet level: Intermediate.
You need to know where the back and front loops of the stitch are, how to work a slip stitch, yarn-over slip stitch, half-double crochet, extended half-double crochet, to be ready to learn some stitch modifications that create the design, understand the short row technique, and, the most important is to follow the instructions carefully.
Inside:
• The pattern’s 29 pages contain written instructions, charts, and images of the process.
• Mute detailed video support with English karaoke-style subtitles that will walk you through the main steps and help visualize special stitches.
• Leftie-friendly mirrored video tutorials.
Size: Size can vary depending on your desire and the amount of yarn you have for the project.
Materials:
Yarn: 180 – 250 m per 100 g. Approximately 250 - 450 g, depending on the size you choose.
Solid colors, hand-dyed yarns, or tweeds. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern. Avoid using very contrasting color-changing yarn; it will detract from the appearance of the stitch pattern. A z-twist yarn will give a different stitch definition; not all can be recommended.
- Main crochet hk – 4.5 - 6 mm,
- Middle hk – 0.5 mm smaller than main hk, and small hk – 1 mm smaller than main hk.
- Sharp tapestry needle to weave in. A pointy needle for weaving in. The pointy needle makes weaving more reliable, as it passes the yarn end through the fibers, making it less likely to come loose during wear.
- At least 1 stitch marker.
- A turnable tray to help rotate always clockwise.
Main steps:
• Beginning. We will work on angle A.
• In Panel 1, we will start including the Jasmine stitch pattern.
• We will grow the Jasmine Shawl in Panel 2, Panel 3, and the General Instructions.
• In the Finishing, we will stabilize the edge by reducing the hook size when specified and work a nice and reliable finish.
• Block it carefully.
• Wrap yourself in and show off on your social media.
