Enjoy this pattern as a freebie. If you want to knit your cowl in the squishy Tubular yarn used here.
The Janey cowl shown here in a super soft tube yarn filled with soft cotton is knitted in the round from the bottom up. A twisted rib pattern starts and ends the cowl and in the middle you’ll knit an elongated repeated check pattern.
The unblocked circumference is 23“ and the height is 9.5“. The pattern is fully written.
Yarn used
2 Skeins of Tubular, an aran weight tube yarn. 60 yards/50 grams each In a Polyester tube stuffed with soft cotton.
Notions needed
US size 13 (9 mm) circular needle 20”
(51 cm) in length.
1 Stitch marker to mark beginning of round.
Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing.
Gauge: 5 sts and 8 rows in 2” of stockinette stitch.
Techniques: Knitting and purling in the round, binding off, weaving in ends. Blocking is optional, as shown the sample was left unblocked.
