This is an original amigurumi crochet pattern designed by me (Smiley Crochet Things) to make a Doll. The pattern includes detailed step by step instructions and pictures.
Crochet James yourself as a perfect gift for a child, or as an ornament for a nursery or child’s room, or just because he’s adorable!
Intermediate pattern - a little crochet knowledge is necessary although only basic stitches are required (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch and double crochet are used within this pattern), more complicated stitches used within this pattern are described in detail. This pattern uses the amigurumi method of working in spirals.
The body of this pattern is worked as one piece from the toes to the shoulders, so no need for too much tedious hand sewing!
Any yarn can be used with an appropriate sized hook, although other weights of yarn will affect the size of the finished item. No required tension, as long as it is worked fairly tightly so the stuffing doesn’t show through the holes.
Materials:
- dk/light worsted (8ply) yarn in the required colours (yarn used for picture was Ricorumi, a 100% cotton yarn)
- 3mm or 3.5mm crochet hook
- 9mm black safety eyes
- Polyester toy stuffing -Small buttons (alternative instructions are provided if giving to a child under 36 months as buttons can be a choking hazard)
Please always check materials and current safety standards before giving to a small child.
Thank you for purchasing my pattern, I hope you enjoy creating your doll as much as I enjoyed creating this pattern.
