Jacket On The Cover
FOR smart summer-time street wear you cannot do better than knit a charming suit like this. The plain black skirt has a very slight flare; the trim coat is a very chic affair indeed. The horizontal strips round the lower edge and bust are worked separately (sideways) and stitched to the perpendicular pieces in the making up.
Materials:
- 16 ozs. Patons Super Bouclet, or P&B Cairn Rimple Wool. Original uses 13 ozs. black and 3 ozs. cyclamen
- A pair No. 12 “Beehive” needles
- Six buttons
- Shoulder pads
Measurements: To fit size 34-36 inch bust; length from top of shoulder, 20 inches, 20 inches; sleeve seam, 18.5 or 5.5 inches.
Tension: 8 stitches to 1 inch (be very careful of this).
