Jäävesi
Meaning ‘ice water’ in Finnish, Jäävesi is a long, lacy but wooly-warm scarf worked from one tip to another with a heavy use of yo’s and increases/decreases. Instructions are both written and charted, and it is a great project for a first attempt at working from a chart. The stitch pattern comes alive once it is heavily blocked, adding definition to your stitches and fluidity to the knitted fabric.
Simple, yet impressive.
