Ivy Tunic is an oversized top down drop shoulder V-neck sweater that is intended to be worn with a belt tied right under the bust or at the waist. The body is knit and the edgings for the neckline, sleeves and the bottom hem of the body, as well as the belt, are crochet.
The garment is designed to be a tunic length, but the length is easy to modify to fit the body of the recipient best.
German short rows are used for shoulder shaping.
There is no shaping in the body, it is knit straight down.
Materials:
Yarn**
We Are Knitters The Pima Cotton (100% Pima Cotton; 232 yards / 212 meters per 100g)
This a heavy DK to Worsted weight yarn.
Pick yarn and needles to achieve gauge.
Estimated amount of yarn needed: (1092, 1176, 1260)(1345, 1429, 1514)(1598, 1682, 1767) yards / (1000, 1076, 1153)(1230, 1307, 1385)(1462, 1539, 1616) meters.
Knitting needles: needle size needed to obtain gauge
I obtained gauge using size US6, 4 mm needles.
Please swatch in stockinette stitch in the round before knitting the garment, as different gauge can change the finished garment measurements significantly.
Crochet hook: a matching size hook size to the knitting needle size used, OR crochet hook needed to match crochet gauge to the knitting gauge.
Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows per 4 in / 10 cm. Please make sure the gauge is met, since different gauge will result in the finished garment having different measurements.
Crochet gauge should be 16 sc per 4 in / 10 cm.
