It's Easy As ABC
Pattern Description
Lacie, who just started school this fall, had recently, and reluctantly, agreed to part with her security blankie. As an incentive for Lacie to give up her beloved blankie, her mother, Karen, promised that she would knit her a big girl blanket. Karen and Lacie came into the store one day to pick out yarn for this project. Since this was going to be a pretty big project, Karen warned us to steer her daughter away from anything that wasn’t on big needles or that might be too difficult. We showed Lacie this blanket and she fell in love immediately. We explained to Karen that it was knit on #15 needles, in garter stitch, and used three colors:A, B, and C. Lacie overheard us and said to Karen, “C’mon Mom, you can do it…it’s easy as ABC.”
Yarn is worked double throughout the blanket--this means you should hold 2 strands of yarn together as though they are 1.
