As timeless as a cardigan gets. The Iris Tree Cardigan has a classic v-neck neckline, a clean button front, and a cropped fit for an updated look.

Details are everything in this seemingly classic-looking cardigan. The shoulders are perfectly shaped with simple short rows, the sleeves have shaped caps and gussets at the underarm to create a durable and good-fitting sleeve and the clean button front is the perfect finish off this knitted project.

The cardigan is named after Iris Tree, a multi-hyphenate poet, model, and creator of great wit, adventurous nature, and great talent. She is the ultimate between-the-wars British bohemian, a woman who defied convention at all costs.

Gauge
19 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” on larger needle in stockinette stitch worked flat after blocking.

To get the perfect fit, it is imperative that you achieve gauge. However, if you can achieve the number of stitches but not the number of rows, this is your lucky day! This pattern provides measurements to be worked at length.

Notions
Blocking tools, darning needle, removable stitch markers, scrap yarn, and tape measure.
