Iris Shawl
Iris looks like a traditional Shetland stole, but it’s put together in the Orenburg lace style: knitted in one piece from end to end, with the edging knit simultaneously with the central pattern. This minimizes the amount of finishing work left to do when the knitting is completed, and lets the patterns flow smoothly and naturally into one another.
The shawl is named for the way the motifs enclosed in diamonds look like eyes, some open and some closed.
