Inverse Striations
The design for these socks was inspired by photographs of muscle fibres, the bundles of striated fibres represented in waves of knitting to create colourful and quirky socks. By changing the order in which the yarn is used, you get two slightly different, inverse socks. It’s great fun playing with the colour combinations and the possibilities are endless!
You will be using slipped stitches to create the waves within the pattern and only ever using one colour yarn per round.
The pattern can be made in three different sizes - small, medium or large adult foot - depending on what needle size you use. (2.25mm, 2.5mm or 2.75mm)
The pattern is knit top down from the cuff, using a heel flap and the toe is grafted using Kitchener stitch.
Using one ball of solid yarn and one of coloured, contrast yarn, you should have enough yarn to make at least two pairs of socks.
Please contact me on Ravelry if you have any queries or if you find a mistake in the pattern. Thank you!
£1 from the sale of each pattern will be donated to Myositis UK to help fund research into this incurable muscle disease.
