Into the Wind
Yarn was spun and the project test knit by Sherie McManaman of Whimsey Knits..
Once upon a time I was inspired by a set of lace curtains to create a shawl. Through many sketches and pieces of graph paper, this is what I came up with. The pattern is a half hex so even in the wind, it will stay on your shoulders better than an average shawl.
This half hex/half round shawl is a wonderful shawl for special affairs, especially if you knit it in a luxury yarn. Knit in a simple yarn, it’s a perfect shawl to wear when doing anything around the house or work as it’s shaping helps it stay put.
The gauge listed is the one we got. If you choose to block your shawl more severe, you will likely get a different gauge. Choose to knit in a thicker yarn and you can have a thicker larger shawl.
The lace patterns are NOT written out. There is a lot going on so they’re only listed as charts. It’s not a beginner’s lace pattern but it’s not difficult if you are able to follow charted patterns.
