When Pascuali launched their new yarn Balayage (created in cooperation with Mairlynd / Melanie Berg), I got the chance to create this cardigan as a design supporting the go-live.
Balayage is of 80% Baby Alpaca and producedin Peru, so I searched for a project name supporting this detail. Intika is one of the islands in the famous Titicaca lake, and famous for its textile crafts - that’s why this cardigan was named after this island.

The cardigan is designed without button holes, but if you prefer to have one or more buttons, you can use the eyelets of the lace borders as button holes.
The collar is shaped with short rows to create a neat shape for the front neckline. A small lace pattern runs along all seams and the the raglan lines.

Zur Markteinführung des neuen Garns Balayage, das Pascuali zusammen mit Mairlynd / Melanie Berg geschaffen hat, bekam ich die Gelegenheit, diesen Cardigan zu designen.
Balayage besteht zu 80% aus peruanischem Baby-Alpaka und wird komplett in Peru gefertigt - daher suchte ich nach einem Namen, der dies unterstreicht. Intika heißt eine Insel im bekannten Titicaca-See, die bekannt ist für ihre Tradition im Textilhandwerk - und so war der Name für das Design gefunden.

Kernstück des Designs ist die schmale Lochmusterbordüre, die entlang aller Säume und auch der Raglanlinien läuft. Der Halsausschnitt wird durch verkürzte Reihen geformt.
Das Jäckchen ist verschlusslos gedacht - wer aber gerne einen oder mehrere Knöpfe verwenden möchte, kann die Löcher im Lacemuster als Knopflöcher verwenden.
