Interleaved
Interleaved socks were inspired by the lush foliage at the height of summer when everything in nature is at its fullest. The socks feature an easily memorizable lace-and-cable pattern of intertwining leaves, rising from the ground up.
These socks are knitted from the toe up in the round. The pattern features a gusset-and-flap heel construction that doesn’t require picking up stitches. Right and left socks are identical and can be worked two at a time.
The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. Both written and charted instructions are given for the stitch patterns.

TECHNIQUES USED
The pattern uses the following techniques: working small circumferences in the round, lace, cables, short rows, and twisted stitches. Ability to follow charts is recommended but written instructions are also provided for the stitch patterns. Cabling without a cable needle will speed up your knitting.
The pattern assumes knowledge of some cast-on and bind-off method for toe-up socks; references are given for a couple of alternatives. The pattern also assumes knowledge of working short rows using the wrap-and-turn method.
