Sometimes, I just want to knit and not think about following a pattern. Usually this means simple knits that are done quickly. I call it my instant gratification knitting! However, with certain things, like socks, I still have to do a quick pattern check for lengths, heel placement, and when to start the toe decreases.
With that in mind, I decided to take my top down, afterthought heel sock formula and break it down to a series of quick reference instructions that can be printed and cut into cards that tuck right into my knitting bag. I’m all about efficiency, and having this guide within reach means I’ll never have to hunt down my pattern again!
I decided to share this for free because it really is just a quick reference, for the knitter who already knows how to knit socks, but may need a reminder or two, to keep them on track! Keep in mind, this is just how I knit my socks, but you should feel free to customize to your hearts content!
You can use any fingering weight yarn you like, and whatever needle and gauge works well for you. As a point of reference, here is my materials list and gauge!

Gauge
32 sts and 44 rows = 4 inches (stockinette stitch, unblocked)
