Infinite infinity scarf
About the pattern
Every year I try to celebrate Pride Month with a new rainbow-colored pattern.
This year, it’s a lacy scarf that shows off the rainbow gradient in this shiny DK weight yarn.
It’s free to download this month (or until I remember to update it, which might be never, knowing me), and I ask that, if finances allow, instead of paying for it, you donate the equivalent of 5 USD to a local organization that supports LGBTQIA+ people in your community.
The motif is reminiscent of an infinity symbol that is repeated perpetually (hence the name) and is inspired by the rainbow infinity symbol, which represents neurodiversity.
You might know that a high percentage of autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, which is why I chose the symbol for this pattern.
Technical details
This is an easy to make Tunisian crochet scarf with a repeating motif that creates a continuous spiral or lace cable.
The starting and ending sections create pointy ends that you can attach a tassel to. These also feature the lace cable design.
You can change the length of the scarf by increasing or decreasing the number of pattern repeats you make.
You can tile the stitch pattern horizontally to create wider projects, such as lacy shawls or curtains.
This pattern is shown off best when using a single color or a long, smooth gradient.
Measurements
The scarf with 21 main pattern repeats measures 12 cm or 4.5” horizontally (width), 240 cm or 95” vertically (height).
Skill level
Intermediate in Tunisian crochet, due to working different stitches and simple shaping.
