“Inei”, shadow in Japanese, is a slighly A-line boxy pullover with a textured rib and a cable pattern on the body, which gradually grows wider towards the hem.
First, the right and left saddle shoulder panels are worked separately with a cable pattern, then stitches are picked up for the back and front along the panel edges. German short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then the front and back of the pullover are worked back and forth separately to the underarm. They are joined to be worked in the round in one piece to the hem. The sleeves are worked top down in the round after the body is finished, with the cable pattern running down from the shoulder saddles.
