Impish
Before we go any further, let me stress that this a Tunisian Crochet pattern. Meaning, you will either need an extra long hook or a hook with a cable to complete it.
My son has a real mischievous streak, but he’s also charmer. Oftentimes, he will do something naughty and flash you this adorable winning smile. I tell people stories of his antics frequently and when I complain about his misbehaviour, they always say the same thing….
“But he’s soooooo cute!”
This kid fools everyone but his Mother. But oh, how he tries!
So I named this sweater after his overall personality.
Things you need to know before embarking on this adventure is that this pattern is written in a “Made to Measure” style. This means you can use ANY yarn, ANY hook, and come to ANY gauge that you like. Just follow the included measurements and your fit will come out right. With that said, because you can use anything from fingering to worsted weight yarn, I can’t give you accurate estimates on yarn yardage. Sorry folks, that’s the price of freedom. My advice is to use something you can easily get more of. The only thing I do NOT recommend using is bulky weight yarn because the stitch is a little thick by itself. So, in a bulky weight, you might end up with more of a coat than a sweater. But, it is your choice.
Another thing you should know is that all the pieces are worked flat and seamed together. So you do NOT need to know how to crochet Tunisian in the round. I’ve also included a video tutorial if you are unfamiliar with the stitch. It is the ‘Tunisian Full Stitch’ if you want to try it out before committing to the pattern. I am not one of those designer’s who makes a play at being super secretive and mysterious about the stitches used in my patterns in an attempt to make you buy it before you try it. So if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
Besides the extra long hook (or hook with a cable), you will need 1 button to complete this pattern. This is not a difficult pattern to complete, so it is perfectly suitable for your ‘first’ Tunisian garment project.
