This cowl is worked in the round using an interesting slip stitch pattern that features stitches that are moved across the surface of the knitting, a little like cabling, to make a lattice pattern. You will be dropping these stitches in one row and picking them up again in the next.
It sounds slightly terrifying at first, but it is an easy pattern to get the hang of once you get going. It is recommended for a knitter who has some experience in knitting in the round and would like to try something new.
It has been made in 8ply (DK) yarn but can be easily modified for other yarn. You will need a multiple of 8 stitches and 12 rows.
I have started with a provisional cast on, that is later bound off with I-cord. The pattern would look just as good with ribbing at the beginning and end (perhaps a two-colour ribbing) or another decorative bind off, such as a picot bind off.

You will need about 150m of MC (red) and 132m of CC (navy).
