Ilona Stole
This shawl/stole came into being after I did some deeper research into Vlad Tepesh, or Dracula, the “original” vampire, if you will.
Ilona was his second wife and I believe this is a wrap that she might have worn.
The portion after the border is a “true” lace pattern; there is pattern on every row.
The end border is knitted separately and grafted using Kitchener stitch.
I would definitely consider this a pattern for an experienced knitter.
Thanks so much to my testknitters and the invaluable advice I got from them. Every effort has been made to make this a flawless pattern. However, if you encounter a mistake, please contact me so it can be fixed. Thanks.
