Illusion Maple Leaves
This pattern is available as a
free Ravelry download
If you want to view illusion knitting from the side, instead of from the bottom, it has to be charted differently. You cannot just turn the chart and knit sideways. The two samples in this pattern are based on the same original photo of a maple leaf and are to be viewed from different directions.
You could use the squares as washcloths or afghan blocks. You could also use them for cushions but might want to add a border to make them bigger.
The pattern is related to this tutorial on the World of Illusion Knitting web site (though there are some very minor differences).
The squares in the photos are approximately 30 cm (12”) square and used around 70 metres (80 yards) of each colour.
