Illusion Cubes
This is a very simple pattern and is one of the samples recommended as an introduction to Woolly Thoughts illusions. If you are new to illusion knitting you might like to try this before you embark on one of our bigger pieces.
When you look from in front you will see only stripes. When you look from an angle you will see cubes with different colours for the tops, fronts and sides, even though only two colours of yarn are used.
The square could be used for an afghan block or washcloth, or as part of a larger design.
You can use any thickness of yarn. The example shown used approximately 50 metres (55 yards) DK in each of the two colours. It measures about 25 cm (10”) square.
