I designed this cowl to be a wearable swatch for an upcoming sweater design. When knitting a swatch for a sweater that will be knit in the round you’ve got to swatch in the round since your gauge can differ between knitting flat and knitting in the round. A cowl is the perfect solution! Knitting a smaller project before tackling a larger one is also a great way to get familiar with the pattern and to test out colour combinations. Not only do you get to whip off a quick knit that gives you all the information you need to proceed with your larger garment with confidence, you also get a really sweet cowl out of the deal. I knit my first swatch cowl in the high contrast black and white colour scheme that I intend to use for my sweater and couldn’t help but have some fun with my second cowl and knit it in ALL the colours.
