Iggy is a hooded scarf worked in garter stitch - a great second project for new knitters, or a low-concentration project for those with more experience.

Using a provisional cast on of your choice, or just casting on with waste yarn, the hood is started in the centre and worked down to one scarf end, then the cast-on or waste yarn is removed, live stitches slid back onto your needles, and the second half is worked down to the other scarf end. This allows you to make the scarf as long or as short as you like!

Markers and simple knit-two-together decreases make the pattern easy to work, and the cushy garter stitch creates a cozy hood that can be worn up for maximum warmth, folded back for a face-framing effect, or just wrapped around the neck as an oversized scarf when the hood isn’t needed.

My version was knit with two different colours of Cascade 220, using one ball for the first half and knitting until I was out of yarn, then joining the other colour for the second half, and knitting until it matched the first side!
