In this oversized wrap, panels of stranded colorwork make gradual transitions between long color runs, creating an ombre effect. The wrap is knit in the round, with a machine–reinforced steek; after the steek is cut, stitches are picked up around the edges for the ombre–stripe border.
Required Yarn & Notions:
2 hanks Herriot in each of the following:
C1: color #02 Heartwood
C2: color #05 Walnut
C3: color #08 Sycamore
C4: color #06 River Birch
C5: color #09 Travertine
US size 6 (6mm) 24” / 40cm circular needle.
US size 5 (3.75mm) circular needle of at least 47” / 120cm,
or one size smaller than main needle
Stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle, sewing machine, brown sewing thread, scrap fabric for testing sewing machine stitch
