Keep your hands cosy, yet elegant, with long lacy mitts that knit up quickly in the round. This pattern is in three sizes, with charted and fully written options.

Newly updated pattern in May 2026 with a different yarn and changes to the pattern to ensure that even the largest size can be knitted using 1 x 50g (100m) ball of wool.

Yarn
Cambrian Wool 100% Welsh Wool, (100m/50g), 1 ball, Welsh Red.
Note: this yarn is listed as a DK weight, but it is not a standard DK. Its length to weight ratio is closer to worsted.

Usage per size: 72 (84, 90)m/36 (42, 45)g

Finished Measurements
Small (Medium, Large)
Palm circumference: 16 (17.5, 19) cm
Length: 16 (18, 18.5) cm

Gauge is for Stocking Stitch worked in the round (not flat) on larger needles.

Waste yarn to keep thumb stitches on hold
8 stitch markers, including 1 contrasting for beginning of round and 2 to mark thumb increases.

Notes
Please read the pattern carefully as some sections only refer to certain sizes and charts are placed differently on each mitt
