What baby wouldn’t scream for these Ice Cream cones? The blanket is designed in vertical columns. There are 3 columns of ice cream cones and 4 columns of textured ‘donut’ stitches. The ice cream cones are knit in a ‘bee’ stitch. Both the bee stitch and the donut stitch look classy, but are easy to do.

Also included in the pattern, are the instructions to make a matching bib. Can’t you see a first year birthday party with all the babies wearing a different colored cone bib- chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, mint? What a nice favor for them to take home.

The blanket is knit in heavy worsted weight yarn on size 7 needle. The finished size is 27”X31”. I used just over 4 skeins of the Berocco yarn for the blanket. It would be easy to increase the width of the blanket by increasing the 3 repeats of the donut stitch to 4 (add 16 stitches to the cast on). The length can be increase by increasing the number of stockinette rows between the cone designs, or adding an additional row of cones.

The bib is knit in worsted weight cotton yarn on a size 5 needle. The finished size is approximately 8”x7”. I use about 75 yards of a 93 yard skein of the Rowan Handknit Cotton.
