Cascade 220 Superwash or Knit Picks Swish
70, (80) yds MC
50, (60) yds CC1
3 yds scrap of a bright color (OPTIONAL) see- blue hat in photo.
Or Any light worsted wool or DK weight Cotton
US Size 4 16in circular & DP needles or size needed to obtain gauge
(Knitter can optionally use one size smaller needle for first 4 rounds to obtain a tighter braided edge)

Newborn: 13 inch circumference (newborn) 6.25 ins height
Infant: 14.5 inch circumference (infant) 6.5 ins height

Gauge: 22sts x 24 rows = 4 ins in stranded stockinette st, blocked.
