This pattern joins my Inconceivable and Princess Buttercup sock patterns in my Princess Bride-inspired series. It was developed in cooperation with Invictus Yarns and uses their July 2016 club colorway.

This pattern is inspired by a quote from The Princess Bride:

“I admit it, you are better than I am.”
“Then why are you smiling?”
“Because I know something you don’t know.”
“And what is that?”
“I am not left handed.”

The criss-crossing cables in this pattern remind me of Inigo Montoya’s sword. The pattern also dances around the leg just as the two sword masters dance around each other in their duel.

Sections of ribbing along the back of the sock allow for a range of fit per size. The pattern gauge is 9 spi, however the size (circumference) can also be adjusted by changing gauge using larger/smaller needles with thicker/thinner fingering weight yarn.
