“Hueston Woods is a large nature preserve near where I grew up. I love walking through the trees, the sense of peace and calm is a balm to my soul.

This cardigan is designed with both lace and cables to evoke the leaves and twigs strewn on wooded walking paths. It’s the perfect layer for returning to the cabin at the end of the day, sitting around the fire as the air cools and the sky darkens to reveal the stars.”
– Kristin Bailey

The cardigan is designed to have a relaxed, oversized fit. It is worked from the bottom up, with the cable and lace pattern covering the body and sleeves and deep ribbing at the hem and cuffs. The sleeves are loosely tapered and joined to the body before using raglan decreases to shape up to the neckline. The generous shawl collar and button bands are knitted in ribbing from stitches picked up along the fronts and the neckline, with short row shaping for the collar.
