Consumed by the thought of immortality even at a young age, Voldemort commits the horrific act of splitting his soul into not one, but seven Horcruxes. Using very advanced Dark magic, Voldemort succeeds in placing pieces of his soul into Marvolo Gaunt’s ring, Salazar Slytherin’s locket, Tom Riddle’s diary, Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem, Helga Hufflepuff’s cup, Nagini the snake, and (accidentally) Harry Potter. Harry is tasked with destroying each Horcrux upon Albus Dumbledore’s death in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a process that will make it possible to end Voldemort once and for all. Prop masters knew the Horcruxes needed to be both exceptional and memorable, since they are arguably the most important props in the film’s series.

Started with a provisional cast on and worked in the round in a tube so there is no visible wrong side, this stranded colorwork cowl is a striking garment for any Harry Potter fan. Featuring seven charts for each individual Horcrux, there is also a bonus chart celebrating their ultimate destruction by Harry. The ends are then grafted with Kitchener stitch for a seamless join. Designed with enough length to wrap twice around the wearer’s neck, this makes for a squishy, cozy accessory.
