Hope Springs Shawl
Inspiration
I love the virus shawl and wanted to make a modern version of it.
The name came about as the shawl was being pattern tested. The day after starting the test i became ill and was in hospital for two days. My lovely testers calmly got on with the shawl, and one lady shared a very moving and personal story as to how the shawl was helping her and what it meant to her.
Other ladies also shared their stories, and it became clear that this shawl needed a symbolic name. One of the pattern testers came up with Hope Springs, and it was perfect!
The pattern works up quickly with a memorable two row repeat.
This shawl pattern is flexible, you can work with one skein of 4 ply yarn plus scrap, stash yarn for the edging as shown, or with more yarn or different weight yarn for a bigger shawl.
Pattern is written out in both U.S. terms and U.K. terms, and is printer-friendly.
