For the previous issue of Cast On magazine, I had designed a men’s sweater with cables that formed circular shapes. I loved the sweater so much that I wanted to wear it myself! I have now revisited these cable patterns in a sweater designed for women. I changed the front neckline to a V-neck, used the smaller cables to frame the V, and changed the sleeve cap to a traditional set-in style. Instead of a rustic yarn like I used for the men’s sweater, I chose a smooth and soft wool in a colorway that happens to share a name with the one I used for the men’s sweater! These sweaters will be stunning as a pair or solo.

The sweater is worked flat, bottom-up, with set-in sleeves. The front, back, and sleeves are sewn, and the neckband is worked by picking up stitches.

Finished Measurements:
Bust circumference: 30¾ (34½, 38½, 42½) {46½, 50½, 54½}“ / 78 (87.5, 98, 107) {118, 128.5, 137.5} cm.

Length: 21 (21½, 22½, 23½) {24, 24½, 24½}“ / 53.5 (54.5, 57, 59.5) {61, 62, 62} cm.
Designed to be worn with 1-3” / 2.5-7.5 cm positive ease at bust. Shown in Size S with 2½” / 5 cm positive ease.

Materials
900 (1025, 1200, 1300) {1450, 1600, 1725} yards/ 825 (950, 1100, 1200) {1350, 1475, 1600} meters A Hundred Ravens Vanir (231 yards/ 211 meters per 3.5 ounce/ 100 gram skein; 100% merino wool) in color Faun.

Needles and Gauges:
US #4 (3.5mm) 24” / 60 cm circular needles, or two sizes smaller than needles used to obtain gauge.
US #6 (4mm) straight or circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

On larger needles in St st, 21 sts x 29 rows = 4” / 10.2 cm after blocking. In Aran Honeycomb patt, 27 sts x 29 rows = 4” / 10.2 cm. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge.
