This knitting pattern is an original design, shown here in Cascade 22 & Cascade 220 Heathers.

All hats are knit in the round, however the Cable Edge Hat has the cable strip knit first, joined and then stitches are picked up around one edge and the hat is knit in the round as usual.

The instructions for the fringe are included, they are written with diagrams as well. The diagrams are a little faint as the pattern was written 14+ years ago and I’m not sure where I got the original ones from. I will keep looking and will up-date when they are found.

Don’t let this put you off as the technique is not difficult.

I had some Angora left from another project and used this as my 2nd contrast colour on the Cable Edge Hat, I think it gives it a little lift!
