Honeycomb Bee Hat
These Honeycomb and Bee themed hats have a ribbed brim and a stocking stitch body with a Fair Isle/stranded colourwork honeycomb repeat pattern encircling the lower section of the hat body. The motifs are worked using only two colours in a row which makes this an ideal pattern for those new to the Fair Isle technique. The bee(s) are added by Swiss Darning/duplicate stitching them on to the finished hat. The hats pictured are worked using a lovely soft pure wool yarn in worsted weight on 4.5mm/US 7 needles and can be topped with an optional pompom; you will need more yarn if making your own pompom.
The pattern covers sizes from baby to adult and the instructions are written for both knitting in the round using a circular needle with no seaming necessary and knitting flat on two needles with a seam at the back.
